There is a list a mile long:
Clean the house
Vaccuum
Rake Leaves
Mow the lawn
Weed and prepare the garden for winter
Organize the garage
Make Dinner
Make a Dark days Dinner and post it here
Stack firewood that has been split
Work on selling Bo's windows - anyone want over 100 windows, storm doors and sliding doors?
Write thank you's
Write letters to the soldiers we adopted for Christmas
Mail packages to above soldiers
Make Madilyn and the Biscuit Christmas stockings
Decorate for Christmas
Evict the spiders living in our house
Fold laundry...
I think you get the idea, I could go on and on...
Yesterday the tree trimmers came to our house and Bo and Marilyn's. See the roof line? That is my neighbor's house, a 2 story. Can you spot the 2 trimmers in our oak tree?
There is no way you would get me that high up in a tree.
The kids had a blast watching them trim, chip and chop the trees up. They took down 4 trees that were very close to our house and trimmed the dead branches out of the oak tree. James sat in the yard all morning.
Madilyn snacked, played, watched and went inside often to warm up. She did like it when branches crashed down though.
This came in the mail last night. It is a seed catalog like no other. This is what I am spending my time on, instead of my chore list for now.
I will be highlighting, reading, and turning pages dreaming of next spring. There will be subtle hints to Scott for Christmas (the top left book which I have ordered already and will wrap for him to give to me).
Can you imagine pink bananas? This book is AMAZING!! The company is family owned and operated. They are dedicated to preserving heirloom fruits, vegetables and flowers. Simply amazing. I wish we could do something like that ourselves though I would go broke because I would spend too much time playing in the dirt and dreaming. (My picture taking skills are quite limited though and do not do the catalog justice)
It reads like a magazine, glossy pages, large beautiful pictures and amazingly detailed descriptions of the seeds you will be buying. The prices are very competitive too! So, if you are bored or in need of some distraction from all that you should be doing, visit Baker Creek Seeds and request a free catalog.
PS The book was $29 and that included a year long subscription to their magazine as well. It was $33 with shipping :) Happy Dance! I think I may start reading it before Christmas and then wrap it
So jealous!! When Papa James was visiting I handed him my old Baker Creek Seeds magazine (it is something right up his ally) and he poured over it for hours! Can't wait until my new 2012 seed catalog comes. I have that huge sunroom to start seeds in now!! YAY!
